🐄WELCOME BACK TO MOO NEWS MONDAY! 🐄 The State Roya 🐄WELCOME BACK TO MOO NEWS MONDAY! 🐄 The State Royalty Team is celebrating springtime by highlighting our farmers on the move. Spring is a prime time for farmers to tend to the fields. Did you know cows eat about 100 lbs. of feed every day? Today we are going to share a few things farmers do to sustain their land to provide quality feed for their cows!

🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽
When caring for crops, each farm is different. On Jesslyn’s family farm, J-Ali Holsteins, they till the soil to allow seeds to germinate and encourage root growth. However, others may use no till to enhance biodiversity. Many farms will reuse the manure from their cattle to provide necessary nutrients like nitrogen phosphorus and potassium.

🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜
As Spring is in the air and our farmers are on the MOOVE, be sure to be on the lookout for tractors and farming equipment. Drive safely and share the roads by being patient and understanding. Remember to thank a farmer for putting their farm, dairy cows and land before everything else they do.

That’s all for you Moo News Monday, stay tuned for next and final week!

While all dairy cattle produce milk, they all come in many different colors and sizes. Each breed is unique and is provided with high quality care from their farmers! Let’s take a closer look into each breed!

🐄Holsteins are known for having the highest milk production, producing about 9 gallons per day. This breed also makes up over 90% of dairy cattle in the US!

🤎Jerseys are small brown cows that have higher butterfat content within their milk. This makes their milk great for butter and cheese making!

🏔️Brown Swiss originated in the Swiss Alps. Due to their orgain they can thrive in both cold winters and hot summers.

💛Guernsey’s have high beta-carotene levels making their milk have a golden/yellow appearance.

🌱Ayrshire’s are efficient grazers as they originated in Scotland.

♥️Milking Shorthorn have a long productive life as they can live up to 20 years old. (average is about 10 years)
